What is your approach to therapy/modality?
My approach is largely informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy, an evidence-based treatment for a wide range of mental health issues. I believe therapeutic change can come out of understanding ourselves in relationship to personal identity as well as important figures in our lives. I also draw from DBT, mindfulness, harm reduction, and existential approaches.
How often will we meet, and for how long?
I often recommend meeting weekly to begin our work and get to know one another. After an initial intake, we will find a cadence to meet that makes sense based on your needs and schedule, and we can check in periodically about how you are doing and the role of therapy in your life at that moment.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I am an in-network with Aetna. For all other coverage, I am an out-of-network provider but I am happy to provide a superbill for our sessions to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
